Cirilo Amorós and his family connection with the city of Valencia and RCD Espanyol
With the valencianista side he won seven regional titles
Cirilo Amorós was a Valencia CF player from 1924 to 1934. During those ten seasons, the Valencian made more than 200 appearances, scored 20 goals, provided 14 assists and won seven regional titles (1925, 1926, 1927, 1931, 1932, 1933 and 1934). As a curiosity, he was the grandson of Cirilo Amorós y Pastor, a renowned Spanish lawyer and politician whose name designates a well-known street in the city of Valencia.
The former valencianista player is also remembered for being the captain of Valencia CF who ordered, on 11 May 1930, the withdrawal of the team from the Chamartin stadium due to a scandalous refereeing performance by Fausto Martin in a Copa match against Real Madrid CF. A historic decision that the Madrid supporters applauded in clear recognition of his great performance.

Amorós also played for RCD Espanyol for a short period of time prior to his arrival at Valencia CF.
